The Feelgood Factor

An extended drama that deals with the themes of, “if it feels good do it!” It also deals with family and how for some, success is more important than anything else.

This three scene short play is firstly set in an office where we see Derek with his colleagues waiting for news of a business deal which could produce great success for the firm. Life is good for, Derek.

He receives word that his brother has called to say that his Father has been taken into hospital. Derek doesn’t seem too interested and prefers to focus on his trappings of success.

In the second scene we are now in hospital. We see Derek’s brother, Simon and his wife Claire, sitting with his father. They discuss Derek and the lifestyle he has. They say they are praying for him and wish he would come and visit.

In the third scene we see Derek arrive at the hospital, the two brothers talk, Simon wants Derek to be more involved with the family, but Derek is having too much fun, he soon leaves.

This is a short play to be performed in a Church or Christian setting. Songs can break up the scenes. A theme or message on “what’s really important in life?” could be given.
