Pentecost

£10.00

A monologue that deals with the themes of Pentecost Sunday from the perspective of a man telling his wife about the strange goings on that have occurred at the house across the street, which is where Pentecost took place.

This one person drama is set in Biblical times. The actor involved needs to wear some sort of, “Biblical outfit.” In the scene, we see that a woman called Sarah has been away for the day, her husband, who is telling us the story, has witnessed some amazing goings on at the house across the road. Which is where the disciples live.

The man describes the flames that he saw on the disciples heads. The languages that were spoken, and the wind that was blowing through the house.

He explains that soon a pretty large crowd started to gather. They thought that the men inside the house were all drunk. The man then explains how he saw Peter lean out of a window and started talking to the assembled crowd. First of all telling then that they definitely were not drunk! Peter went on to explain about the Holy Spirit, and the reason for all that had happened.

This is a humorous sketch that paints the reactions to what happened at Pentecost, in a very vivid way.
